Presidents Letter
To Friends of Adolfo Camarillo High School,
As President of the ACHS Athletic Booster Club, I welcome you to the website for athletics at Camarillo High School. Our booster club’s vision is to help our student athletes develop positive qualities through sports and activities. We feel that our student athletes deserve every opportunity to be successful. These opportunities include a top-level education, state-of-the-art facilities, training and equipment based on the latest science available, and a community that attends their games and supports them.
What does all of this mean? Our ultimate vision is to create an environment that will enhance the athletic experience of our young men and women. Imagine the thrill of running out onto the field with a packed stadium, or into the gym where the sound is deafening, and knowing that you have every opportunity for success. Imagine a rally that has to be held at night so that everyone in the community can attend. Imagine our athletes stepping up to the tee, diving into the pool, jogging onto the track, running onto the field, or stepping onto the court with complete confidence. Confidence gained by knowing they have trained and practiced at such a level that they can compete with anyone.
In order to make our vision a reality, the booster club needs your help. We need members who want to support the sports their own children play or the sports they themselves played in high school. To support all 22 sports sponsored by Adolfo Camarillo High School, we need parents, grandparents, alumni, retired teachers, and interested citizens. In short, we need you.
As you come forward to help, you will find many far-reaching programs, including a professional training scholarship program, an extensive website that can be adapted to each sport, and a cost-reduction initiative to make sports participation less costly to families. In addition to our programs, we are also engaged in fund raising for many improvements needed at our school. These improvements include, but are not limited to, a turf athletic field for football, soccer, and track, and an on-campus swimming pool for water sports.
As you can see, our goals are quite ambitious, and we need volunteers from all sports to achieve them. As an alumnus of Adolfo Camarillo High School and a parent of three former, one current, and two future student athletes, I invite you to come and join with me in making a difference for our youth and our school. The impact you can have at this point in a teenager’s life is immeasurable.
